Why Action is Necessary
Section 2-40(a) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances requires that the Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") authorize any commercial activities or occupy any portion of Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ("FLL") for any purpose unless specifically authorized by Broward County ("County").
What Action Accomplishes
Approves the Terminal Building Lease Agreement ("TBLA") between the County and Alaska Airlines, Inc. ("Alaska") to lease space in Terminal 1 ("T1 ") in accordance with the provisions of the TBLA, which establishes the payment of rent for the leased space at FLL.

THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action approves the TBLA between the County and Alaska to lease space in T1 at FLL.
On June 12, 2018 (Item No. 5), the Board approved a TBLA between the County and Alaska to lease and use space in T1 to provide airline services at FLL. The current TBLA expires on July 19, 2023.
