Chapter 2, Section 2-40(a) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, requires the Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") approval to authorize any commercial activities or occupancy of any portion of Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ("FLL") and North Perry Airport ("HWO").

Summary Explanation/Background
THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The action amends the existing Agreement with Triton to add approximately 918 square feet to the lease premises at HWO.

On September 20, 2022 (Item No. 3), the Board approved the Agreement between the County and Triton for a lease term of 25 years.

Triton is leasing approximately 0.9 acres of land to provide aircraft storage at HWO. Triton is required to construct a 10,000 square feet addition to an existing hangar ("Required Improvement"), and the Agreement contains a minimum capital expenditure requirement of $1,000,000. The Required Improvement must be completed by the last day of the 3rd lease year. The additional 918 square feet as part of the First Amendment will provide extra space for the improvement.
