Title: MOTION TO APPROVE Trip & Equipment Grant Application and authorize the County Administrator to execute the Application and, if awarded, the resulting Grant Agreement with the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (FCTD) for State Fiscal Year 2024, subject to review for legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney, in the total grant amount of $5,669,500, which includes State funding to the County in the amount of $5,102,550; authorizing County Matching funds (10%) in the amount of $566,950; authorizing the County Administrator to provide additional information as requested, and to take any necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, Broward County, as the designated Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) for the Broward County service area, is required to provide "non-sponsored" transportation disadvantaged services to eligible individuals. "Transportation disadvantaged" is defined as those persons who because of physical or mental disability, income status, or age are unable to transport themselves or to purchase transportation.

What Action Accomplishes
Secures continued state funding for transportation disadvantaged trips, pursuant to Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, provided by the County's paratransit service.
