Board action, meeting as the governing body of the Cocomar Water Control District, is required for advisory board appointments pursuant to Broward County Code of Ordinances Chapter 36-14(b).

Summary Explanation/Background

THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

Cocomar Water Control District serves the City of Coconut Creek and a portion of the City of Margate as shown in Exhibit 1. The three-person Water Control District Advisory Board reviews information developed by County staff and makes recommendations to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as needed, for the appropriate operation of the district. The three-person Advisory Board has had one vacancy for more than two years.  Mr. Young’s appointment will fill this existing vacancy.

 

This item allows the Board to meet as the governing body of the Cocomar Water Control District to approve the referenced appointment to the Water Control District Advisory Board.
