MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between Broward County and Housing Opportunities Project for Excellence, Inc., in the amount of $18,000, effective from the date of full execution through June 30, 2024, for fair housing outreach and education efforts; authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same; authorize the County Administrator to execute amendments to the Agreement, subject to review for legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney, that do not impose additional financial obligations on the County; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement as amended.

Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Commission") approval is required for agreements with external agencies.
What Action Accomplishes
Approval of the Agreement will facilitate outreach efforts to educate the public about their housing rights. These activities help protect families and individuals who believe they have been victims of discrimination.

THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HOUSING OPTIONS, SOLUTIONS, AND SUPPORTS DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action supports the Commission's value of "building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives" and the goal of "delivering accessible human services that holistically address the whole person collaboratively and compassionately."
