MOTION TO APPROVE increase to the budget for the Andrews Avenue Bridge Project from $615,000 to $670,000 due to cost escalations of fabrication and installation of the artwork by artist Susan Narduli; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to effectuate same. Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with 1-88(d) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") may, in its sole discretion, reduce, eliminate, or waive any or all the public art appropriations on a project-by-project basis.
What Action Accomplishes
Approves an increase in the compensation to the artist, which increases the overall project costs.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE BROWARD COUNTY CULTURAL DIVISION, AND THE BROWARD COUNTY CULTURAL COUNCIL RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board's value of cultivating community culture, arts, recreation, and life-long learning.
On November 10, 2020 (Item No. 54) the Board approved artist Vicki Scuri and her conceptual design proposal for the Andrews Avenue Bridge Project for an amount not to exceed $490,000. The artist subsequently withdrew from the Project.
On April 6, 2021 (Item No. 49) artist Susan Narduli's conceptual artwork design proposal was approved by the Board for Andrews Avenue Bridge. The budgeted amount for the project was $490,000.
