AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE; AMENDING SECTIONS 1-171 THROUGH 1-177 AND REPEALING SECTIONS 1-178 AND 1-179 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES ("CODE"); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
On August 25, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") directed the Office of the County Attorney to prepare Ordinances to amend or repeal outdated or obsolete provisions of the Broward County Code of Ordinances ("Code") and present such Ordinances for consideration by the Board. This is one of a series of Ordinances consistent with that direction.
This proposed Ordinance amends Sections 1-171 through 1-177 of the Code to be consistent with current practice regarding the content and procedures for updating the Broward County Administrative Code and the County Administrative Policies and Procedures ("CAPP") and regarding the issuance of other administrative orders. The proposed Ordinance repeals Section 1-178, which generally prohibited third parties from altering or tampering with the Administrative Code (e.g., by removing pages), and Section 1-179, which required signature by the Mayor and attestation by the County...
