THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board's Connected Community Goal of "Cooperatively delivering an efficient and accessible regional intermodal transportation network" by providing operational funding for Broward County Transit.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) provides Broward County funding (block grant) on an annual basis, pursuant to Chapter 341, Florida Statutes, for assistance in funding operations for fixed-route bus service. These state funds are available to offset operating expenses incurred by the Broward County Transportation Department (BCT) and require an equal local match.
