MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between Broward County and Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc., for Professional Engineering Services for Parks and Recreation Division, Request for Proposals (RFP) No. PNC2123551P1, for an initial three-year term, in the not-to-exceed annual amount of $600,000 for any one year of the agreement, for a maximum not-to-exceed amount of $1,800,000 for the initial three-year term, and authorize the Director of Purchasing to renew the Agreement for two one-year periods, with a maximum not-to-exceed amount of $3,000,000, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, Board approval is required for awards exceeding $500,000.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides comprehensive professional civil engineering services on a continuing, as-needed basis for the Parks and Recreation Division.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) established a County Business Enterprise (CBE) goal of 25%. Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. committed to 26% CBE participation. The goal participation was reviewed and approved by OESBD (Exhibit 2).
On December 7, 2021 (Item No. 83), the Board approved Request for Proposals (RFP) No. PNC2123551P1, Professional Engineering Services for Parks and Recreation Division. The RFP was advertised and, at the time of the submittal deadline on January 12, 2022, five firms submitted proposals in response to the RFP.
