MOTION TO APPROVE subrecipient Grant Agreement between Broward County and State of Florida, Department of Health, Broward County Health Department, for the period from March 1, 2023, through August 31, 2023, in the amount of $271,757, for the continuation of the maintenance plan for the new Liquid Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer; authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement.
(Per the Tuesday Agenda Memorandum, this Agreement does not include the County's standard agreement provisions, because the State of Florida Department of Health requires the County to use its Agreement.)
ACTION: (T-11:01 AM) Approved.
VOTE: 9-0. Commissioner Udine voted in the affirmative telephonically.
B. MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution within the Medical Examiner Grants Fund to appropriate revenue in the amount of $271,757 for the continuation of the maintenance plan for the new Liquid Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer.
(Per the Tuesday Agenda Memorandum, this Agreement does not include the County's standard agreement provisions, because the State of Florida Department of Health requires the County to use its Agreement.)

Why Action is Necessary
Section 20.31(b)(3), Broward County Administrative Code, requires that the Board of County Commissioners ("Commission") approves all state and federal grant agreements.
What Action Accomplishes
The Department of Health funds will allow the Medical Examiner to continue the maintenance plan for the new Liquid Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer which is an Analytical Instrument for the Toxicology Department.
