Summary Explanation/Background
CULTURAL DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This item supports the Board's value of cultivating community culture, arts, recreation, and life-long learning and goals relating to providing diverse artistic, cultural, educational, and historical amenities and programs that contribute to a vibrant, multi-cultural, and economically viable community.

As part of the Fiscal Year 2019 adopted operating budget, the Board approved each individual award in all incentive program categories, with the exception of the Creative Investment Program (CIP), the Creative Place Making Program (CPMP), and the Cultural Festival Program (CFP).

Pursuant to Section 29.17(e) of the Broward County Administrative Code, the Broward Cultural Council makes all incentive award recommendations to the Board for all programs with the exception of the CIP, CPMP, and CFP. The Broward Cultural Council is authorized to approve CIP, CPMP, and CFP awards, which comply with these guidelines and for which funds have been allocated and budgeted by the Board for these programs.
