In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.31.a.4, Award Authority, Board approval is required for awards exceeding $500,000 that includes a single bidder, rejection of apparent low bidder, or protested award.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT/TRANSIT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Economic and Small Business Development reviewed the scope of work and determined that this project will not contain race-conscious goals for Disadvantage Business Enterprises and the assignment for this project will be race-neutral because Federal Transit Administration funds are applicable (Exhibit 2).

The purpose of this contract is to provide replacement bus batteries necessary for Transit Division's bus fleet.

The initial bid submitted by Glades Parts Company, Inc., DBA Original Equipment Company, was $761,607. The vendor offered a voluntary price reduction and revised the estimated total amount to $758,010. The Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.30.f.2(...
