MOTION TO APPROVE Fourth Amendment to the Software License, Maintenance, and Support Agreement Between Broward County and Gencore Candeo, Ltd., d/b/a The Genesis Group, to extend the Agreement through September 30, 2021, and to add up to two optional one-year renewal periods thereafter to be exercised by the Director of Purchasing, and to increase the total not-to-exceed amount of the Agreement by $33,000, from $65,500 to $98,500; and to authorize Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.43, a contract for supplies and services may be entered into for no more than five years without the express consent of the Board.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY DIVISION RECOMMENDS THE APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Genesis software and maintenance support agreement is an essential service agreement which includes telephone and remote support, system analysis and software updates. This software is a tool used to monitor the Public Safety Radio System performance.
On September 27, 2012 (Agenda Item Nos. 60 and 61), the Board delegated the authority to execute the 2nd amendment to the July 1, 2003 Interlocal Agreement, and directed the County Administrator to reflect changes to the Fiscal Year 2013 proposed budget to reflect the return of the Office of Communications Technology as a County agency.
