MOTION TO APPROVE Third Amendment to the Agreement between Broward County and Universal Protection Services, LLC, d/b/a Allied Universal Security Services, for Security Officer Services for Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and North Perry Airport (RFP No. R131116P1), extending the term from January 1, 2021, through September 30, 2021, on an automatic month-to-month basis, increasing hourly rates paid for certain positions, and increasing the maximum not-to-exceed amount of $47,889,020 by $10,000,000, to a new maximum not-to-exceed amount of $57,889,020; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Section 21.31.a.4 and 21.47 of the Broward County Procurement Code, any amendment that exceeds $500,000 requires Board approval.
What Action Accomplishes
Extends the current agreement through September 30, 2021, on an automatic month-to-month basis to allow time for the solicitation of new Security Officer Services agreements for Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and North Perry Airport; increases the maximum not-to-exceed amount of the Agreement by $10,000,000.
