MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2020-763 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of the Governmental Center to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO CHAPTER 21 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"); REPEALING AND REPLACING THE BROWARD COUNTY PROCUREMENT CODE AS CURRENTLY PROVIDED IN CHAPTER 21 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Office of the County Attorney has completed a comprehensive rewrite of the Procurement Code with the following goals: (1) to simplify, streamline, and clarify; (2) to codify Board direction and key practices not currently captured in the Procurement Code; and (3) to update to reflect best practices.
