Why Action is Necessary
Broward County Board of County Commissioners approval is required for the execution of an Amendment to an Agreement that would extend the contract to more than five years, as required by Section 21.43 of the Broward County Procurement Code.

THE PORT EVERGLADES DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL.
This item supports the Broward County Board of County Commissioners' ("Board") Value of "Ensuring economic opportunities for Broward's diverse population and businesses" and the Goal to "Increase the economic strength and impact of revenue-generating County enterprises balancing economic, environmental, and community needs."
On November 10, 2015 (Item No. 37), the Board approved an agreement with John C. Martin Associates, LLC ("Martin Associates") to provide economic impact analysis services to the Port Everglades Department, consisting of preparing both annual reports by Fiscal Year, and project-specific analyses, with an effective date of January 19, 2016. The agreement included both Basic Services and Optional Services during the initial three-year term and two optional one-year renewal terms.
