Summary Explanation/Background
Commissioner Fisher nominates Tracey Wekar-Paige for appointment at-large to serve on the Animal Care Advisory Committee ("ACAC").

Ms. Wekar-Paige is the President of Cat Pals, a nonprofit organization that fundraises, supplies food, water, medical care, and rehoming to a colony of abandoned and feral cats.

Currently, Section 12.290 of the Broward County Administrative Code ("Administrative Code") prohibits the two at-large appointees to the ACAC from fitting within any of the nine identified membership categories for the ACAC members nominated by individual members of the Board of County Commissioners (the "Board"). One of these categories of ACAC member is "[a] member of a local, nonprofit organization providing support or services to stray or unwanted animals."
