In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, Board approval is required for awards exceeding $500,000 inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING SERVICES DIVISON RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) did not establish County Business Enterprise (CBE) goals for this procurement. OESBD reviewed the Certified Firm Small Business Directory and identified eight CBE firms under the NAICS Code 561730. However, none of the eight CBE firms is a wetland mitigation specialist and/or has experience or knowledge in the eradication and control of exotic and nuisance vegetative species (Exhibit 2).
