MOTION TO APPROVE Amendment to Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) by and between Broward County and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 that was executed on December 5, 2017, to share responsibility for Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit requirements, extending the Agreement term retroactively from January 5, 2022, through January 4, 2023, providing for additional funding in the amount of $24,582, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

This action ensures the County and FDOT District 4 continue to satisfy the requirements of the FDEP NPDES-MS4 Permit, for Broward County and 28 co-permittees, including FDOT District 4, supported by this JPA.

This item supports the Board's Value of "Encouraging investments in renewable energy, sustainable practices, and environmental protection" and Goal 1: "Seek funding for, implement policies and pursue projects promoting the use of alternative energies and sustainable practices."
