Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.19(a), Standardization, the Board is required to approve all standardizations for purchases greater than the award authority of the Director of Purchasing; and Section 21.19(c), the Director of Purchasing may purchase such standardized items, regardless of contract amount.
What Action Accomplishes
Approves standardization of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP products and services for the County's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE OFFICE OF REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The purpose of this item is to standardize the use of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) servers, storage solutions, maintenance, services and support, including professional installation services, for Broward County's Motorola Solutions, Inc., (Motorola) PremierOne Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system (PremierOne). The Motorola CAD system is utilized by emergency dispatchers, call-takers and 911 operators. Motorola has certified HPE equipment as its standard to run PremierOne. HPE equipment is distributed through HPE Authorized Partners.
