Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.47(a), the Board shall make all awards, and authorize the execution of the associated contracts, with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract.

In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.53(a), unless otherwise provided by law, no County contract duration shall exceed five years without the express approval of the Board.

In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.28, the Purchasing Division may participate in, sponsor, conduct, or administer a cooperative purchasing agreement with one or more governmental agencies or nonprofit entities for the procurement of goods or services where the Director of Purchasing determines that such an agreement conforms to generally accepted standards of public procurement.
