MOTION TO AWARD fixed contract to the awarded vendor, Motor Coach Industries, Inc., under the State of Georgia, Contract No. 99999-001-SPD-0000138-0006, Supplemental Mass Transit Vehicles and Transportation Related Vehicles and Accessories, for the purchase of five commuter buses, which includes diagnostic equipment, spare parts, and training to be delivered within twelve months from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed for the Transit Division, in the amount of $3,262,670.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.135.e, the Director of Purchasing shall have the authority to enter into a contract awarded by a public procurement unit if the public procurement unit and/or the vendor agree to such an award of their contract and the procurement was accomplished under generally accepted public procurement principles. The actual award of such a contract shall be made by the applicable awarding authority.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides for the piggyback purchase of five over-the-road commuter buses, including spare parts, engine and transmission diagnostic equipment, and training.
